DOAN and Washington's Crossing
|
On Christmas day 1776, Moses Doan and his gang were alerted that Washington was going to cross the Delaware and attack the Hessian garrison in Trenton.
Moses Doan crossed ahead of Washington and passed a note to the Hessian commander Col. Rahl. But Rahl never read the note. Historians agree that had Rahl read the note, the attack would have been thwarted, and it’s likely the Revolution would have been OVER. In other words, there may have been no United States of America. |
